CHANGES FOR 2014:
-New gas-electric hybrid model
-Jasmine Green Metallic, Plasma Green Pearl and Quartz Blue Pearl paint colour options added; Deep Cherry Pearl paint discontinued
Following its introduction as a 2013 model, the Impreza hatchback-based Crosstrek crossover adds a gas-electric hybrid model to the line for 2014. Its electric motor adds 13.4 hp and 48 lb-ft to the 2.0L four-cylinder boxer engine it shares with the rest of the Crosstrek line. That gas engine makes 148 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed manual transmission is standard in gas-only models; a continuously variable automatic is an option there, and is standard in hybrid models. All Crosstrek models are all-wheel drive.
Trim levels include Touring, Sport, Limited and Hybrid.
Touring models get Subaru's Hill Holder system, front and rear stabilizer bars, stability and traction control systems, four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock, electronic brake force distribution, brake assist and brake override system, seven airbags including a driver's knee blocker, whiplash-reducing front seats with height- and tilt-adjustable head restraints, illuminated glove box and ignition switch, 17-inch alloy wheels, engine immobilizer and anti-theft system, roof railes, automatic headlights, foldable power-adjustable heated and body-colour mirrors, six-speaker stereo with MediaHub iPod integration, Bluetooth with voice activation, automatic climate control, tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel with audio and cruise controls, windshield wiper de-icer, chrome interior door handles, body-colour outside door handles, rear-seat centre armrest, retractable cargo cover, heated front seats, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, cloth door trim and ebony cloth upholstery.
Sport trim adds HID headlights, sunroof, large roofline rear spoiler with integrated brake light and leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift lever.
Limited models get navigation with voice activation and 6.1-inch touchscreen, text-messaging capability, backup camera, chrome outside door handles, dual-zone automatic climate control, side mirrors with integrated LED turn-signal repeaters and leather seats.
The Hybrid model builds on the Sport package, and adds the gas-electric drivetrain, engine idle start-stop system, intelligent keyless entry with pushbutton start, silver roof rails, active grille air shutters, engine cover and side mirror-mounted LED turn signal repeaters.
